Blazing Bikes.

The Blazing Bikes shop has become a destination in itself. Tucked away in the stunning Shropshire Hills, they’ve built a fiercely loyal community of adventurers who believe the best stories are written in mud, sweat and adrenaline. With an uncompromising passion for high-performance wheels, their offering of premium, custom mountain bike builds has seen them become one of the UK’s leading bike specialists.

However, as their reputation grew, their legacy website became a commercial bottleneck. Blazing Bikes needed a digital presence that matched their reputation on the trails. It needed to be bold, streamlined and built to perform. A platform engineered to make buying, renting and configuring custom bikes entirely frictionless, driving higher-quality leads and allowing the team to focus on fulfilling orders while customers spent more time on the trails.

A rider-first eCommerce experience

Our work began bydistilling who Blazing Bikes are at their core: adventurous, straight-talking, passionate about performance and just the right amount of rebellious. That spirit carries through their website with a brand-led design that captures their personality.

But we also understand that selling high-ticket, custom-built mountain bikes online requires absolute user trust. This meant ensuring that the entire website ruthlessly eliminates digital friction. Its simple and intuitive design seamlessly leads users to where they need to go, turning complex custom-build enquiries into a highly visual, streamlined conversion pathway.

The result was a new website that delivered on all fronts. Visually striking, user-friendly and optimised to keep customers exploring, building and buying. The new site more than doubled visitor numbers, with conversion figures climbing right alongside.

Replatforming for scale: The Magento 2 migration

A visually striking website is only successful if the underlying architecture can handle the traffic. So, when Magento 1 was retired, we took the opportunity to level things up again with a migration over to Magento 2.

  • Mobile-first architecture: Ensuring the site performs flawlessly for riders browsing on the go.

  • Performance & speed: Drastically improving page load times to reduce bounce rates and keep users exploring the product lines.

  • Frictionless checkout: Implementing a smoother, highly secure payment gateway to reduce cart abandonment on high-ticket items.

For the Blazing Bikes team, this upgrade simplified their backend operations, freeing them up from manual administrative tasks and giving them the flexibility they need to aggressively scale their inventory. On the customer side, this meant a seamless brand experience that would ultimately grow conversions.

A fully immersive digital experience

Their website and brand are all about the experience, and the same sense of energy, possibility and adventure that greets you at their shop now comes through online. It’s easy to navigate, full of inspiring product stories and designed to make every customer feel like they’re already on the trail.

Their site sells the lifestyle, the thrill and the promise of escape.
