Front-end Developer – Full time.

Overview

We are looking for a front-end website developer who is open to full-time immediate hire, to work out of our Shrewsbury office. Given The Curious’ focus on working with startups through to national brands, this will include working across a variety of industries. You will be part of a team developing and designing digital experiences that live across all digital platforms, including marketing sites, web applications, eCommerce sites and mobile apps. Responsibilities:

• Determining the structure and design of web pages.
• Ensuring user experience determines design choices.
• Developing features to enhance the user experience.
• Striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design.
• Ensuring web design is optimised for smartphones.
• Building reusable code for future use.
• Optimising web pages for maximum speed and scalability.
• Utilising a variety of markup languages to write web pages.
• Maintaining brand consistency throughout design.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Understanding of key design principles.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
• Experience with graphic design applications such as Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
• Understanding of SEO principles.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
