The Holroyd Theatre.
Challenging the preconceptions of what a boarding school should look like, Moreton Hall provides its students with an innovative space that nurtures confident, kind and creative individuals. With a can-do attitude to life, they encourage Mortonians to give anything a go.
We loved working with Moreton Hall to develop their digital presence, so were eager to get started when they got in touch about creating a brand and website for the Holroyd Community Theatre (HCT), too. Since being built in 2019, it has become a cultural flagship for local communities around North Shropshire and the Welsh Borders, providing a space for all to enjoy the arts.
A brand that captures the spirit of the theatre
We began by pinning down their core values of community, passion, excitement and enjoyment before using these values to shape a relatable identity full of energy and community spirit, just like the theatre itself. This involved a strong colour palette and fluid brushstrokes to add movement, while the photography was led by the style of individual performers to reflect the community spirit.
The guidelines also show how these elements will work together to express these values across all their marketing materials, from posters, signage and tickets to lanyards, programmes and clothing. Paired with a welcoming and authentic tone of voice, Shropshire’s HCT now has a brand and website that lets the community know this is more than just a school theatre—it’s a theatre for all.
