Delivering an exemplary British pub experience, Nicholson’s is a collection of iconic pubs committed to creating a cosy space where people can share memorable meals and relax with a top-notch pint. Focusing on quality, they wanted to reinvigorate their brand with a new creative direction that had a more premium feel while remaining relatable.
Refining an iconic pub’s identity
Following several brand workshops, we worked closely with our client to establish a more refined brand concept. From unique illustrations and a balanced colour palette to sophisticated typefaces and typographic lockup, their new creative direction is inspired by classic British design with a modern twist full of character.
We then used these elements along with a playful and relatable tone of voice to create a wide range of branded A-boards, as well as social content and food and drink menus. Our team also came up with simple yet sophisticated new app icons and web banners to create a premium branded experience across every touchpoint.
Finally, we paired everything together with a new art direction for their photography. This outlines exactly how their food, drinks and interiors should be captured to emulate the classic British pub experience.
